Welcome to PCinfospace!

Did you push your start button and nothing happened? You say “Oh my God! I have a huge amount of pictures I can’t loose on there.” This happens to way to many people. My recent example is like this:
I was called by an individual who said her computer was totally dead. She claimed it wouldn’t do anything when she pushed the start button. Although there are several things this could be, I first checked to see if she was plugged into a live outlet. Periodically the surge protector gets turned off by accident. I next checked to see that the plug was in tight and that the start button in the rear of the machine was on. All these checked out. I picked up the computer and took it to my lab for further testing. The first thing I tried was a new power supply. HAY!! that was it. Wow! I was worried because I have seen the motherboard bad also. DO NOT! let a technician try to sell you a new motherboard . Be sure the technician runs adequate tests first. If this were a Laptop computer it still could have been the same problem. HOWEVER! It is no easy fix and could cost money to do. I do NOT know of anybody in my area that will even fix them. I decided not to do it do to the risk involved and the very tiny components.
