This page is spicific to spy-ware. Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware for a definition.
We will be talking more about this and other similar threats.
How do I know I have spyware? Mostly you will know when you have spyware. Your computer may become very slow. You may not be able to get in your e-mail. There are hundreds of other things that may happen. If the spyware was there long enough it may totally destroy your hard drive or it may send your personal information to an obscure location on some far off island or nation. The latter is why it was invented. I have seen severe cases were the computer will not even boot or it won’t let you do anything if it does. The only good solution is prevention. Get a good Anti-Spyware program. Even better yet, don’t go on porn sites or “bad” sites. These type of sites always will bring spyware your way. If you download music or have chat rooms they are very big for bringing spy-ware into your computer. In severe cases you will be left with no alternative except to reload your operating system. Be sure to backup all files and e-mails if you do.
