This is a review on what I feel I have learned about VISTA since its release. First and foremost it takes quite a bit of RAM. It is my experience that to run VISTA HOME PREMIUM you “must” have at least 2 GIG of RAM. I also know that you don’t want to try to “upgrade” to Vista for a computer that is more than two years old. You must have a fast motherboard with a Duo-Core processor in my opinion. You also need a good size hard drive due to the fact the operating system takes up quite a bit of storage space. Be sure you read the system requirements if you do want to upgrade.
If you have a Windows 98 computer and you need to upgrade do NOT try to put VISTA on that machine. Either donate the computer or see if somebody in your area will recycle it. Do not just throw it away. It contains numerous component that are not good for the environment. Cost is not economically feasible. It will cost you more to upgrade an old computer “properly” than it would be to buy a new one. The mother board and processor will need to be replace at a minimum if you really want to spend the money.
